Pepper is a sweet boy. He’s very much a lap dog and will eat pretty much anything. While I do love him very much and am grateful to have had him for the amount of time I have, Pepper has an extremely hard time adjusting to people, even the ones he lives with. If someone is in the house he doesn’t know, he will run to a room and hide under the bed and will not come out until they leave, not even to go potty. He jumps at every sound and is VERY skiddish. He hides from everyone. He seems to have experienced extreme trauma and has separation anxiety but also is afraid of everyone. While I have tried medication and other solutions, I have just come to the conclusion that Pepper and I are not as good a match as I thought we would be. I wish we could keep him here more than anything, because I had it set in my mind and heart that this was my forever puppy, but I believe finding a home that can fit his needs would be best. I was not informed the extent of his anxiety and was not prepared or equipped to handle it. My hope is to find someone as understanding of this as I am and will have the time and patience that I can’t give. Thank you.
